Meeting with the students of the CJA of Outuaramea, Faa’a

In March, a team from the LOC went to faa’a to meet the young students of the CJA. The students have been working since the beginning of the school year on many projects related to the theme of Polynesian navigation!

Solid skills

The rapprochement between the LOC and the CJA of Fa’a’a, is part of actions that the association carries out to enhance the value of young Polynesians. The committee met the students who chose the wood option and their pedagogical manager. 5 of them are working on the theme of navigation. A theme that requires a creative and rigorous spirit!

The LOC wishes to value their work by choosing with them:

  • Medal presentation trays
  • Picnic tables in fir wood

Their creations will be visible for a very large audience!

A time of exchange:

This meeting was an opportunity for the members of the LOC and the specialist carpentry trainer Mr. M. B. M.

B. to meet. Jean-Philippe to exchange on the place of educational projects as interesting as the one of navigation.

Beyond the school approach, this theme of navigation and woodworking allows students to regain self-confidence through awareness :

  • From the past: they recreate a real link with their culture
  • at the present time: in action, they apply to the pruning of the wood carefully
  • In future: they often imagine themselves embarking aboard their realization

With the help of sound advice of their teachers, their work is a source of escape that allows them to acquire real skills and give themselves the means to realize themselves.

Future professionals

These workshops (carpentry, ironwork, sculpture, sewing) allow students to regain a greater interest in certain subjects at school in a more playful way. Like maths with the making of models, French with writing poems on the boards, etc….

Thus, at the end of these 3 years at the CJA, these young people will be able to continue their schooling by integrating a bachelor degree Pro or a certificate of professional competence
