SPORT – Entries for the 2018 Va’a World Championships are now open.

French Polynesia marked the history of va’a by creating the 1st Va’a World distance Championships, held in June 2017 in the bay of Taaone. Since its first edition, these championships have broken all records of participation by grouping 33 countries from the 5 continents. It is in this dynamic that the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is preparing for the next Va’a World Sprint Championships which will take place from 16 to 26 July 2018. At the center of these championships are two major events: the Elite World Championships and the Club World Championships.

Opening of online registration

The International Federation of Va’a (IVF), officially opened the registrations from their official website. All interested rowers are invited to contact the Area Coordinator (AC) of the Country which they wish to compete.

For which country / region can you participate?

Each competitor may only compete with a member country / region that of the IVF.

Two possibilities :

  • compete with a team (member of the IVF) of his or her nationality
  • compete with a team (member of the IVF) of its place of residence (for more than 6 months)

How to register ?

  1. Contact the Area Coordinators of your country: you will find the list of ACs here
  2. Area Coordinators register their athletes on the IVF website
