DISTRICTS AT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 18th Va’a World Sprint Championships represent a real opportunity to highlight the practice of va’a internationally. But, it is a unique opportunity to be able to involve the local population.

The climax of the solidarity component of the LOC is represented by the VA’A MATA’EINA’A CONTEST. While Va’a no te Ora was primarily intended for the neighborhoods of Pirae, the solidarity actions of the COL take a new dimension with this competition dedicated to the priority neighborhoods of all 13 municipalities of Tahiti and Moorea: Arue, Faa’a, Hitiaa O Te Ra, Mahina, Moorea-Maiao, Paea, Papara, Papeete, Pirae, Punaauia, Taiarapu-East, Taiarapu-West and Teva I Uta.

SIX CATEGORIES

Each municipality will be responsible for the selection of its crews, who will be able to compete in the following 6 categories:

  1. V6 Open Ladies 500m
  2. Men’s V6 Open 500m
  3. V6 Open Ladies 1000m
  4. V6 Men’s Open 1000m
  5. V12 Open Ladies 500m
  6. Men’s V12 Open 500m
